Emergency consultations for the sick child

We are available for emergency consultations and care of your sick child.

Our offices are open 08h00 – 16h30 and if you have any concerns please give Maylene a ring and we will make sure your child gets the best care possible.

Emergency care includes, but is not limited, to children with the following symptoms:

• Unremitting fever not responding to conventional management or causing discomfort.
• Vomiting or diarrhoea
• Abdominal pain
• Wheezing or difficulty breathing
• Seizures
• Fainting
• Injury or severe fall
• Unwell or unhappy child for any unknown reason

After hours and on weekends and public holidays the emergency roster is shared by a group of paediatricians and someone is always on call for our patients.

Our casualty has an open-door policy for any sick child, please make sure to tell the casualty doctor that Dr Meyer is your preferred paediatrician, and they will discuss further management with her.
